Why was this mail returned to me?
Sometimes mail can't be delivered. This happens for a variety of reasons, but it usually happens because the recipient has moved. This is minimized when you use Click2Mail because we compare your addresses with the USPS National Change of Address (NCOA) database. If your list contains a record that has an active change of address on file, that address is used for mailing. Changes of address expire and sometimes recipients don’t file one with USPS. When this happens, a mailpiece goes out with an outdated or incorrect address. If the USPS is unable to forward or deliver the piece, they will return it to the return address. If there is no return address on a mailpiece, the USPS will dispose of it.
When the mailpiece is returned, it will have either a yellow sticker, stamp or handwritten indication that explains the reason for its return. Below is an example:

Pieces being returned will typically be indicated with a "Return to Sender" scan that is available in the IMB tracing. For more information about IMB scans, visit USPS.com.
