Define your Target Audience
The mailing list databases contain millions of records. It's a good idea to identify your target audience before you purchase a mailing list. Before you purchase a list of new prospects, consider your current customers. Learn everything you can about them. Once you have this information you can begin to build a picture of your best prospective customer. Here are some good questions you can ask yourself about you current customers that will help you obtain a targeted mailing list:
1. Who am I selling to?
2. Who are my best customers? Why?
3. Geographic - Where do they live?
4. Demographic - What characteristics do they share? Age, income, gender, etc.
